How a Toronto visit goes
Still six cities, at street level.
Amalgamation was 1998; the housing stock never got the memo. A rear-lane pad in Leslieville, a front pad off College, a parkade level at Yonge and Sheppard and a Scarborough driveway are four different starting points before anyone touches the car. The work does not change between them. The access does.
Old Toronto, where the car is in the lane
Riverdale, Leslieville, the Annex, Little Italy: the spot is often a pad off the rear lane, or a mutual drive shared with the house next door. What matters is not the size of it but whether there is room to walk a full circle and open the doors. If the lane is the only way in, or the neighbour's car has to clear the drive first, put that in the quote notes rather than leaving it for the door.
Front pads and the one-car-wide spot
A paved rectangle between the porch and the sidewalk, exactly as wide as the car and no wider. Usually workable — the doors are the question, not the length. The other thing to check on these houses is the tap, which tends to sit on the far side or be shut off for the season. No tap is a normal answer here, and saying so changes what gets loaded before he leaves.
North York and the Yonge corridor
Willowdale and Sheppard put tower parkades and 1950s driveways on the same few blocks, and they are not the same appointment. In a Bayview Village or Don Mills driveway, leaving the car out front is the whole of the preparation. On a P-level off Yonge, the building decides what is allowed down there before anyone else does, so ask and pass on the answer.
Scarborough and East York
The straightforward half of the city, and worth saying out loud, because the downtown version gets all the attention. Guildwood, Agincourt, Leaside and the streets around them are mostly private driveways with room to spare. Nothing has to be arranged beyond not leaving the car boxed in behind a second one.
None of it changes the job — the same inspection and the same steps happen on a Dundas West laneway as on a Guildwood driveway. It changes how the visit is set up. Tell him where the car sits.
What a downtown car arrives like
Low mileage is not the same as clean.
A car that crosses the city twice a week and spends the rest of its life on a parkade level does not wear like a highway car. It collects instead.
Underground, it takes on concrete dust and whatever runs down the ramp, and both settle rather than rinse. On the street it is the old trees. Sap in the summer, the birds that come with them, and construction dust from whatever is going up nearby, which downtown is usually something. Inside, the short stop-start trips are the problem: the carpets never get a long enough run to dry out, and a damp interior in a warm garage is where the smells that detailing can and cannot remove start. None of it is dramatic. It is just that nothing washes it off by accident, so it stays until someone takes it off.

Downtown, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke are all on the regular route. Somewhere in between that isn't listed? Ask on the quote form — coverage isn't a fixed boundary.

Either; the coverage is identical. This page is the general Toronto answer. If the car lives in Etobicoke, the page for it goes further into what a Humber Bay parkade or a narrow Mimico frontage needs arranged, which is detail this page would only blur at city scale.
The car has no driveway. It lives on the street. Does that work?
It usually does, and it is one of the more common setups downtown. What decides it is the window rather than the space — a permit block, a rush-hour restriction or a two-hour limit each make some parts of the day unusable. Tell him how your block behaves and he books a slot that holds.
It barely gets driven and lives underground. Is there anything to do?
Usually more than the odometer suggests. A car that sits on a parkade level picks up concrete dust and whatever drips onto it, and none of that rinses off the way road film does. The paint is generally in better shape than a commuter's; what is sitting on top of it is generally worse.
Do you detail in Toronto through the winter?
Yes. Winter changes the access rather than the work: on a downtown street the usable space around the car is whatever has been cleared, and one that has been plowed in needs digging out first. A shovelled driveway, or a garage with the door open and room to walk around, is what makes a full exterior straightforward in February.
Do you publish prices for Toronto jobs?
